In the Primera Division, Barcelona rumbles on towards the title after an easy 0-4 win against Elche. Robert Lewandowski put Barça on track at the red lantern.
The difference between the number 20 and the number 1 in La Liga was as great on the field as the score suggests. Barcelona were lord and master in Elche and it was the inevitable Lewandowski who put his team on track to victory in the 20th minute.
The score was only doubled after the break. Ansu Fati whizzed past his defender and slid the ball into goal. Earlier this week, the young attacker’s father had grumbled about a lack of playing time and threatened a possible departure. Fati junior therefore immediately reinforced that claim on the field.
In the last half hour, Barça added 2 more goals in saving mode. So without wasting much energy, because another Clasico is on the menu on Wednesday.
Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals. Barça won the first leg 1-0.
