The adapted sports section of the Fuji Kaï judo club shines on the tatami mats.

The Fuji Kaï judo club, in addition to the inclusion in its courses of young people with disabilities, opened two years ago an adapted sports section of which it is particularly proud.

This section, whose lessons take place every Friday afternoon at the Carmaux dojo, is a great success for the club, both for its recognition and for the excellent results of the young people who train there. The judo club, recognized in the sport practice in adapted sport, thus received last February for joint training, the AGAPEI of Cagnac, the IME of Florentin, the ASEI of Sérénac, the home of life of Braconnac -les-Ormes and a few other young people. Objective: to prepare the interregional competition allowing the qualifiers for the French championships.

Nearly 25 judokas with disabilities participated in this training, motivated and who were able to prepare for their future competition in a fun and warm atmosphere in the presence of the social affairs assistant, Anne Sourdin and the president of the departmental sports committee. adapted from Tarn, Frédérique Huc.

Well prepared, the judokas of Fuji Kaï judo then shone during the interregional adapted sport competition on February 18 in Montauban. Out of 11 competitors, 9 are qualified to participate on the weekend of April 15 and 16 in the French adapted sport championships which will take place in Dôle in the Jura.

They got great results

Dimora Laura, Maurel Julien, Ricard Cédric, Hawes Félix, Ruiz Damien and Etienne Maxence finished first in their categories. Paulet Steven, Mayima Elguy, Navarro Laurence climbed on the second step of the podium. Finally, Escaffre François with a bronze medal, also qualifies for the French championships.

Once again, their trainer Sonia Teyssier, 3rd dan black belt, underlines the merit of these young people, who hopefully will continue their ascent and make the colors of the Carmausin club shine on the highest steps of the French podiums.
