Despite the fall, the judges rated the USA pair’s skating very highly – with 124.07 points, which allowed them to take first place with 226.01 points.

The second place on the podium was taken by the European champions, the Italians Charlene Ginard/Marco Fabri, who accumulated a total of 131.64 points in the optional skating, which is a personal record. A total of 219.85 points have been accumulated.

Canadian figure skaters Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier took the third step of the podium, who received 130.54 points in the optional program, which gave a total of 217.88 points.

The Latvian dance couple Aurelija Ipolito/Lūks Russell took 27th place in the rhythm dance on Friday and did not qualify for the optional dance.
Later on Saturday, the men will also distribute awards, competing in optional skating. Latvian figure skating leader Deniss Vasiļjevs takes 11th place after the short program. Vasiļjevs skates the optional program second in the penultimate group at 12.43 p.m.
The World Championship in Saitama will end on Sunday, March 26, with demonstrations.
