Trauner’s contract with Feyenoord extended early

ÖFB team player Gernot Trauner has prematurely extended his contract with Feyenoord Rotterdam by one year until 2026. This was announced by the current leaders of the Dutch league on Tuesday. Trauner has been playing for Feyenoord since summer 2021, last year the 30-year-old central defender reached the final of the Europa Conference League with the club.

Trauner has quickly become a regular in Rotterdam since moving from LASK. “Feyenoord feels like my second home and I feel very valued here,” said the crowd favorite on the club’s website.

Trauner is currently preparing with the ÖFB team in Windischgarsten in his native Upper Austria for the start of the European Championship qualifiers on Friday (8.45 p.m.) in Linz against Azerbaijan.
