Tom De Sutter’s post-career is already full. Here he is now associated with Marc Coucke in padel.
Two and a half years after stopping his career, Tom de Sutter is very present in the world of padel. The former striker was already building his first club in 2015 with his partner Mattias Van Holm. Together they founded Arenal, which now comprises nine clubs.
And it is not ready to stop: La Libre indeed reports that De Sutter has reached an agreement with Marc Coucke, who ran the company Padelworld. The Anderlecht leader thus joins Arenal and is ambitious: “Padel is a booming sport and, as entrepreneurs, we want to consolidate our position as market leader. With 60 courts currently in use, we believe that ‘there is still a lot of potential for expansion’, says the new main shareholder.
Tom De Sutter confirms that the duo wants to be “very ambitious”. With Guillaume Gilletalso a fan of padel (he also opened a club with Steve Darcis in the province of Liège), the doubles could be worth the detour.
