Superstar Rodgers wants to continue his career in New York

NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers gave an insight into his career plans on Wednesday. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, the former Green Bay Packers playmaker said he would like to continue his career with the New York Jets, who are genuinely trying to get his services. “I want to play and I would like to play in New York,” said the now 39-year-old, who won his only title with Green Bay twelve years ago.

The clubs still have to agree on a change, as the four-time NFL MVP only last year extended a contract with the Packers by three years and around $ 150 million. After a disappointing season without a playoff appearance, Rodgers left all options open, but said he felt that the Packers wanted to open a new chapter after 18 seasons in the person of his designated successor, Jordan Love.

If the swap deal went through as expected, history would repeat itself: Brett Favre, a Packers legend, switched to the Jets 15 years ago – because Green Bay was planning to use his successor, Rodgers. The New Yorkers, Super Bowl winners in 1969, were last in the playoffs in 2010/11, and no team is waiting longer to return to the postseason.
