Leipzig coach Marco Rose can rely on Josko Gvardiol and Emil Forsberg in the Bundesliga hit game at Borussia Dortmund.

Will Christopher Nkunku get a starting XI place from Leipzig coach Marco Rose?

The duo of Gvardiol and Forsberg, who had missed the public training session at the beginning of the week, completed the entire training session with the team on Wednesday. Defender Lukas Klostermann, who was substituted a week ago in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City with adductor problems and therefore missed the game against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1) on Saturday, was also involved again. Rose wants to determine on Thursday whether it is already enough for a mission again.

Olmo has Gladbach in his sights

In addition to the long-term injuries Peter Gulacsi and Abdou Diallo, the coach also has to do without Dani Olmo. The Spaniard, who has recovered from a torn thigh muscle, is in rehab and could make a comeback in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on March 11th. Then Konrad Laimer, who is missing in Dortmund because of a yellow card suspension, is back in the game.

Kevin Kampl and Amadou Haidara are fighting for Laimer’s place on the double six next to Xaver Schlager. On the offensive, top scorer Christopher Nkunku is pushing for his comeback in the starting eleven after coming on as a substitute against Wolfsburg, Manchester and Frankfurt.

Good memories from Dortmund

“You started playing football for games like this,” said defensive all-rounder Benjamin Henrichs in the “Sky” interview, looking forward to the floodlight game on Friday evening: “We want to play as well as we did last year.” On April 2nd, Leipzig celebrated a 4-1 win over Dortmund, who was then coached by RB coach Marco Rose.

The RB entourage will not travel to the venue one day before kick-off as usual, but will only set off on Friday. From Leipzig’s point of view, Friday evening has been a particularly fruitful match day: Of the 18 Bundesliga games last season, they lost only one 2-1 at Union Berlin.
