Live | Sorgues: he wants to do battle with a baseball bat

On the night of Wednesday to Thursday between midnight and 1 a.m., a 43-year-old man was stopped just in time. It was the operator in charge of video surveillance for the city of Sorgues who alerted its municipal police. A threatening individual then called another in the street, a baseball bat in hand.

A link was immediately made with the report, some time earlier, of a man claiming to be threatened. Spotting the police, the armed man tried to flee before being stopped in a dead end. Strongly smelling of alcohol, he was handed over to the gendarmes and refused any screening. On the passenger seat of his car, a hammer and a wooden bar were also found.

He was eventually summoned to court and released.
