Leandro Trossard on Eden Hazard’s retirement: ‘He had kind words for me’

It has now been two days since the players got to know Domenico Tedesco better. Not yet the opportunity therefore for the coach to speak individually with each of his players. But given the retirement of Eden Hazard, Leandro Trossard should be part of the Devils who will climb in the hierarchy. In an interview with RTBF, the captain of the Devils had also indicated that even he had wondered why Trossard had not played with the national team more in recent months.

“Eden had kind words towards me”he explains. “It’s a new chapter that opens with a new coach and a new staff. I don’t know yet exactly what the coach expects from me.”

Romeo Lavia, new Red Devil: “Witsel is a great example”

With Arsenal, Trossard sometimes plays as a striker or as a second striker. Will he be given the same role in the national team? “Why not, even if I assume he sees me playing on the left side. It will all depend on the system chosen by the coach“.

The former Brighton player is delighted, in any case, to discover the new ideas brought by Tedesco. “It’s on a tactical level that there will be differences, where on a technical level we’ve known each other for a long time. I expect to see a team on the pitch that can already compete with other nations .”
