This weekend the Galician Junior Championship took place in the A Xunqueira de Fene Pavilion in which 200 judokas from clubs from all over Galicia participated. AD Judo Ferrolterra participated with eight judokas and three technicians.

Javier Sánchez, from Ferrol, a judoka with a scholarship from the CGTD in Pontevedra, had a great competition and played the -66kg final against the judoka from Arteixo, Anderson Dibaris, losing in a highly disputed match.

On the other hand, the other judoka from the club with a CGTD scholarship, June Moreno, this time had to settle for a bronze medal. She carried out two hard fights with her two companions from the CGTD, Noelia Insua (ADD) and Noa González (BaixoMiño).

Alexandre Carnero, on his return to competition in the -73 kg category, had a great competition, losing in the round of 16 with the Madrid judoka, licensed by Famu de Vigo, Rodrigo Parrilla. In the play-off he beat another Madrid judoka, Lucas Tocino, and in the fight for the bronze medal, he lost to Pablo Adán, also a Madrid judoka from Famu de Vigo, finally finishing in a great fifth place.

The youngest of the club, still in the cadet category, Carlos Botana and Pablo López, lost the first match and in the playoffs they won their first match, later both losing their second playoff match, being left out of the fight for the medals.

Mario Tenreiro, Xabier Leira and Carlos Javier Ares lost in their first match, leaving them with no option for a playoff.

Armando Castro was the referee of the club and Alba de Bernardo, Alberto López “Pitu” as technicians and Alberto Castro as a member of the organizational staff.
