Isaiah Stewart will not play again this season

Injury problems accumulate in the Pistons roster one month before the end of the season regular season. The organization has announced that Isaiah Stewart will miss between three and four weeks due to an impingement on his left shoulder, which practically puts an end to his 2022-23 season.

This news comes just three days after Hamidou Diallo sprained his right ankle against the Portland Trail Blazers, an injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the season. An outcome that Bojan Bogdanovic also points to due to some discomfort in the Achilles tendon.

Stewart, 21, had already missed the last four games with hip pain. In his third season in the NBA, he has played a total of 50 games, 47 of them as a starter, in which he has averaged a career-high 11.3 points, as well as 8.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists. The interior will be eligible this summer for an extension to his rookie contract.

The Pistons occupy the last position of the Eastern Conference with the worst record in the entire league (15-52), so these absences do not pose any setback for their non-existent competitive aspirations.
