In the end, Sunday’s big match between Romagnano and Viareggio, valid for the 25th day of the First Category championship, will be played at the “Raffi” sports field in Castagnara. After a hectic week, in which other possible locations in Carrara had been identified, the choice fell on the home system where the works to remake the synthetic turf surface were completed just a few days ago.
The super challenge for the title will therefore also be the occasion for the inauguration of the new stadium. The Massa Carrara Police Headquarters had the last word on the matter which, once it had taken note of the indications received from the Municipality and the Fire Brigade and carried out a due inspection, decided for safety reasons not to go beyond the permitted limit of 200 spectators who will be divided as follows: 130 entrances for the home fans and 70 for the away fans. Tickets can only be purchased in presale while the ticket office will be closed on Sunday. The portion of tickets intended for the home fans will be purchasable at the “Raffi” stadium today (from 2 to 5 pm) and tomorrow (from 9 to 12 and from 2 to 5 pm. To ensure maximum transparency and impartiality in ticket sales Asd Romagnano Calcio will not accept telephone reservations but only in presence. The only contact persons are the general manager Andrea Pucci and the sports director Gabriele Panizzi. “We express our regret for not being able to allow entry to all sportsmen from Romagnano in such an important match – communicated the amaranth club – but we must comply with the provisions taken by the bodies in charge for reasons of public order. We apologize to our fans and invite them to support the team and to maintain correct behavior in what for our country it must be a great day of celebration”.
From Viareggio there was talk of at least 200 fans on the starting foot but they will have to settle for 70 places.
