SUMMARY
Aaron Judge hit his sixth long ball of the season and the New York Yankees defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 15-5 on Sunday afternoon at American Family Field.
New York scores 15 points against the Brewers for the second time in 24 hours, following its 15-3 triumph on Saturday. The Yankees have scored at least 15 runs in two consecutive games for the first time since 2007.
In the first inning, Judge dispatched a Tobias Myers pitch 441 feet from the plate to put the Yankees in control with a solo home run. Judge, who started the season with just three homers in his first 24 games, has now hit three homers in his last five games.
Anthony Volpe then increased the Yankees’ lead to four runs in the fifth inning with a three-run home run.
The Brewers tied the game in their next at-bat with a double by Willy Adames and a homer by Jake Bauers, but New York pulled away with a seven-run surge in the sixth inning.
Judge finished the game with three hits and three RBIs, while Volpe put two balls to safety and drove in three runs. Anthony Rizzo was also productive offensively with four hits, including a home run, along with three runs scored and two RBIs.
Yankees starter Marcus Stroman was removed from the game after allowing six hits and four earned runs in four innings.
For the Brewers, the defeat goes to the record of Abner Uribe (2-2), who allowed two hits and five earned runs in only two thirds of an inning of work.
