Korean badminton ace Ahn Se-young (21, Samsung Life Insurance) succeeded in advancing to the quarterfinals in the women’s singles at the World Badminton Federation (BWF) Jeonyeong Open.

On the 16th (hereafter local time), Ahn Se-young, world No. 2 in the women’s singles world ranking, defeated Taiwanese Baiyupo 2-0 (21-3 21-7) in the round of 16 of the BWF Jeonyoung Open held in Birmingham, England. By U4 is ranked 28th in the world.

Ahn Se-young showed overwhelming skills by finishing the game in 29 minutes. Ahn Se-young accumulated 42 points while conceding 10 points.

Her opponent in the quarterfinals is Carolina Marin, who is ranked 7th in the world and won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Ahn Se-young has the experience of winning by beating Marin in her Indonesia Masters final last month.

Ahn Se-young won the runner-up in the women’s singles at the BWF Jeonyeong Open last year. In the final, she unfortunately lost to World No. 1 Akane Yamaguchi (Japan).
