On the Montfoulon floor, Saturday March 4, against Falaise, his trainer Lionel Ciscato passes him a blower. Not to stigmatize him, but to encourage him and put him back on his feet.

The one targeted by the wrath of the coach of the Alencon/Saint-Germain agreement ? It is Simon Coudona young, pure product of the Alencon training.

A family legacy

After having gone through all the stages of learning Ornais handball, the teenager will soon know what is best at his level with the French UNSS championships in Limoges (April 4-7), under the colors of the Alain d’Alençon high school.

“I did baby gymnastics for a year, when I was 4 years old. But I very quickly arrived at the hand”, confides Simon Coudon, player of the EASG.

At 17, the young man has been practicing it for already 13 seasons. His parents are no strangers to his sporting involvement as his mother, Claire, is a former handball player. “I have memories of journeys with my mum, where it was about hand…”

His dad, Johan, had more fun, for about twenty years, with a football.

When I was 7-8 years old, I played badminton. Then, with the Covid, I took up athletics, a complementary sport to handball. I would like to resume training. But this year, I devote myself to the hand and the baccalaureate.

Because the one who, at the start of the season, did not think he had his place in the first team, plays his role there.

Schooled at Jules Ferry in primary school, the kid joined the hand section of Balzac college. “We had two training sessions of 1h30 a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a club coach, Renaud Goué, and a PE teacher, Corinne Le Merle”, he recalls.

Do better than in 2022

At Lycée Alain, Simon Coudon naturally enrolled in the sports option, with one sport per quarter and three hours of additional weekly practice. “In Second, there was physical preparation, gymnastics and badminton. In Première, bodybuilding, handball and badminton. And in Terminale, we have badminton, handball and swimming. »

A few days ago, the teenagers of Alain (generations 2005 and 2006) and of the EASG won their ticket for the France UNSS. “Last year, we were already there (8th out of 18, editor’s note)”, he underlines.

We hope to do better. We discuss with the group what we can do about it. Above all, we must take action to finance the trip.
