Bolotnik will play his next fight against Gvozdik of Ukraine

On the first weekend of May, Bolotnik, who fights in the weight category up to 79.4 kilograms, is scheduled to fight Gvozdik on the night of Canelo Alvarez’s fight in Guadalajara.

“He is a great fighter, winning a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. He beat Adonis Stevenson in the World Boxing Council (WBC) world title fight, and he is the toughest opponent in my career so far,” says the Latvian boxer.

Bolotnik says the Mexican fans will enjoy his boxing and promises that the Ukrainian boxers are in for a tough night.

It has already been reported that on April 1, Bolotnik’s fight with the British Craig Richards, who has given up on the fight due to an injury, will not take place for the international champion’s belt in the light heavyweight category of the World Boxing Association (WBA).

The duel between Bolotinik and Richards was supposed to take place at the end of November last year, but even then the fight did not take place due to the opponent’s illness.

The 32-year-old Bolotnik has won 19 of 26 fights during his career, eight of them by knockout. In December 2019, he won the “Golden Contract” tournament organized by “MTK Global”, which gave him a two-year contract for five fights. Many well-known boxers are under the umbrella of “MTK Global”.

The Latvian boxer fought his last fight in April 2022, when he defeated the Croatian Hrvoji Sepa, causing his opponent the first loss in his professional career.

The 35-year-old Gvozdik has played 19 fights in professional boxing, winning 18 of them, 14 of them by knockout. After a three-year hiatus, he returned to the ring in February, defeating Mexican Jose Obando in the United States.
