Valenciaport and Guardia Civil reinforce their commitment to enhance port security and protection |

The president of the PAV, Aurelio Martínez and the General of the Civil Guard, Arturo Prieto Bozec, have inaugurated this day that serves as a starting point to reinforce the activity of this State Security Corps in the port area. Through this agreement, in addition to training, the PAV will also improve the infrastructures and materials for the development of its day to day.

The General wanted to influence “the need for institutional collaboration with the articulation of mechanisms that allow the establishment and use of synergies between the different administrations.” In this sense, he is satisfied “with the signing of the agreement, which will allow further training and improvement of infrastructures for both parties.”

The objective of this agreement is to facilitate the exchange of information regarding port protection and maritime transport; Increase collaboration to prevent and react to illegal activities. The agreement, with a duration of four years, extendable, is also intended to contribute to the provision of necessary means for the Civil Guard of Valencia in the development of security actions; as well as holding coordination meetings with the aim of harmonizing and seeking synergies in the application of the regulations relating to Critical Infrastructures.

The Port of Valencia was the first to have a permanent detachment of the Civil Guard, specifically on July 3, 1907, for the surveillance and custody of the effects that were deposited on the docks.
