Three NFC East teams will have at least one new coordinator in

Now that the season has officially ended, a lot of changes are coming in the coaching staff of various organizations. Of course, the Dallas Cowboys have not been the exception to the rule. But it must also be announced that several NFC East teams will have new elements as coordinators for next season. The truth is that there are specific cases that attract wide attention and must be made known.

After losing the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles have been left with a very good player project that will fight in the division. However, they have lost both their offensive and defensive coordinator at the same time. During the day on Tuesday, both Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon ended their respective contracts to finish as head coaches. Steichen, who ran Philadelphia’s offense, will now serve as the Colts’ HC. While Gannon will go to take the reins of the Arizona Cardinals.

While it’s true that some coordinators become head coaches after their great work with a franchise, it’s rare for both coordinators in an organization to leave at the same time. In fact, the last time something like this happened in the NFL was the 2004 New England Patriots season. Where Romeo Crennel would go to work as HC on the Browns and Charlie Weis would take the college route to lead Notre Dame.

As far as the Eagles are concerned, the Cowboys’ rival already has a new offensive coordinator. This is Brian Johnson, who has already been in the last two seasons working as the quarterbacks coach. So now he will have a greater responsibility and see if he can handle the whole group and not just give directions to Jalen Hurts.

Changing organization, the Washington Commanders are also making their respective moves for the next championship. The offensive coordinator job is vacant, and there is a strong rumor that Eric Bieniemy could be part of the franchise that finished last in the NFC East. Don’t forget that Bieniemy is the current offensive coordinator for the Super Bowl-winning Chiefs. So if the Commanders get their services, we are talking about a high-level trainer. However, Eric has remained in Kansas City since 2018 and it seems unlikely that he could move to another organization that easily.

Finally speaking of the Dallas Cowboys, Kellen Moore ended his relationship with the organization and will now be the offensive coordinator of the Chargers. His old position will now be filled by Brian Schottenheimer, who was already a Coaching analyst for the Cowboys in 2022. In any case, the Cowboys will have to continue evaluating the rest of the coaches for the next championship. Since there are still vacancies for the position of runners and quarterbacks coach.

Who if they are going to keep their core of coaches intact will be the New York Giants. Both their coordinators and head coach Brian Daboll will be back for the new season. Something that draws a lot of attention thanks to the level they showed during the postseason, since the project will continue to evolve.

As can be seen, there are some significant changes in some of the coaching staffs of the division. Especially the Philadelphia Eagles, who are still evaluating the possibility of placing someone from the house as defensive coordinator. In this specific case, it would be Dennard Wilson, who functions as coordinator of the passing game and coach of the defensive backs. Perhaps in the next few hours it will be known if the position of defensive coordinator of the Eagles will be his or not.

What is certain is that the new season will be interesting with all these changes. However, you have to wait a few months to see the result of the work of all the NFC East franchises. This is just beginning to take shape for the 2023 campaign, so you have to be patient.
