TG judoka successful at district level – Turngemeinde Münster von 1862 eV – competitive sport – mass sport – fitness & health

The judoka of the TG-Münster-Monsters presented themselves extremely confidently at the district championship on February 4th. in Hoerstel. With a total of 360 fighters from 4 districts, the tournament was very well attended.

TG trainer Kai Strietzel sent 14 starters into the race who had qualified the week before at the district championships in Neubeckum.

The tournament started with the U11s fighting, in which Andreas Tetruashvili (-37kg) won the gold medal undefeated. He also defeated his training partner. Konstantin Peters, who then won all other fights and ended up in 3rd place.

After defeats in the opening fights, Adulrahman Alkhalaf (-27 kg) and Tim Hartmann (- 29 kg) also had to go to the consolation round, where they won all matches and secured further bronze medals for the TG.

Nora Horstmann (-33 kg) caused a particular stir, as she met the title favorite in the weight class in the first fight and initially had to accept a rating against her. However, Nora was just as unimpressed by this as by the darker belt color of her opponent and, shortly before the end of the fight time, sent her to the mat with a courageous O-Goshi hip throw. She won the following fights prematurely and was thus in the final. Here she faced a physically superior opponent, who she cleverly attacked with a shoulder throw (Morote-Seoi-Nage). Nora received ippon (full point) and thus the gold medal.

In the U15 her brother Jonte Horstmann (-37 kg) also won first place after 4 wins with his special techniques Uchi-Mata and O-Uchi-Gari (foot throw). In the final he met the most difficult opponent, his training partner Abdelaziz Alkhalaf, who had to settle for the silver medal this time.

David Kvirikashvili was the clear contender for the title in his -46 kg weight class and won all fights early in the preliminary round. When he used his special technique Soto-Maki-Komi in the final, his opponent reacted with a counter-throw backwards, which cost the Munster the victory and thus relegated him to second place.

Bronze medals also went to Glenn Hartmann (-55 kg) and Kian Wemmer (-60 kg). The latter surprised trainers and audience alike by beating supposedly superior opponents as a judo beginner and tournament newcomer and thus unexpectedly climbing onto the podium.

In the U15 girls, Lotta Grage (-52 kg) won another bronze medal for the Münster Monsters and thus secured, like the other U15-placed, the qualification for the West German Championships, which took place on February 18th and 19th. take place in Dormagen.
