The Parc de la Commune could well be redeveloped by the City of Chambly soon. Baseball league games will have to be relocated.

The discussions began several months ago and are already progressing quite well. If concern grows at the Baseball Federation, the Chambly club is confident. The disappearance of the land of the Commune, located on the avenue Bourgogne, will be compensated by a relocation of the meetings on an equally quality ground. “It’s true that it’s a very beautiful space, smiles Paul Bernard, general manager of the club. It often happens that our opponents congratulate us for the quality of the pitch, but also for the setting with the view of the basin. »

The land of the Commune is the main meeting place of the Chambly association. “We have organized between 90 and 100 events there this season,” continues Paul Bernard.

It sure is a big loss. But the City has assured us that it will find a solution and that the land will not be destroyed without a fallback solution for us. We were really reassured by our discussions. »

Another baseball field is about to disappear: that of Hertel Park. It is used very little (about ten games per season) and the City intends to redevelop the entire park for the benefit of neighborhood residents, school children, children from the Early Childhood Center and childcare camps. day. The City of Chambly has posted a citizen survey on its website to find out which facilities should be given priority in this space. Closed since mid-December, the survey will reveal its verdict in the coming months!
