Millionaires surprise with their call: ‘9’ appears, ex-Corinthians

Alberto Gamero traveled to Ibagué this Saturday with 18 players called up to face Tolima.

This Sunday, at 6:00 pm, Millonarios will face Deportes Tolima at the Murillo Toro stadium, for date 4 of Liga Betplay I-2023. Coach Alberto Gamero and his 18 players traveled to Ibagué this Saturday in search of the second victory in the League.

Undoubtedly, a promising duel, in which the blues could have the debut of the attacker Juan David Torres, a great novelty in the list. But who is it?

After making Gamero’s league known, Millonarios referred to the new player called up. This is Juan David Torres Henríquez, a 21-year-old from Barranquilla, who will wear the ‘9’ shirt in Millonarios and plays as a left winger or midfielder.

Torres played in the minor divisions of Argentina’s Banfield. In 2020 he went to Corinthians in Brazil, where he made the jump from the U-20 to the B team. He arrived at Millonarios in August 2022 and with Gamero’s endorsement he managed to be part of the professional squad this year.

“Technician, great vision of the game and good punch (…) Former Corinthians and process in the U-20 Selection,” Millonarios highlights on his social networks about the new player called up.

Torres, who will wear the ‘9’ shirt, comes to fill the void left by Daniel Ruiz, who left last week for Santos in Brazil. Tremendous responsibility for the young man from Barranquilla.
