Mathieu Faivre (FRA): The distances are now becoming very extreme. Local hero Mathieu Faivre did not perform well either. The Frenchman doesn’t find his way into the race at all and ends up four (!) seconds behind the leaders.

Rasmus Windingstad (NOR): Meanwhile, Rasmus Windigstad crossed the finish line completely dissatisfied. The Norwegian couldn’t find his rhythm at all and ended up trailing more than three seconds.

Zan Kranjec (SLO): Very strong performance by the Slovenian! In any case, it will be difficult to endanger Marco Schwarz at the top, but behind them Kranjec is definitely in position for a medal with a good run.

Alexis Pinturault (FRA): The Frenchman could have been on the radar at the home race, but after a mistake at the end of the technical part the time is gone. Pinturault is in last place, almost 2.5 seconds behind.

Manuel Feller (AUT): Manuel Feller is not doing badly in the second section, but he has a few difficulties in the upper, technical part.

Loic Meillard (SUI): One or the other will bite their teeth at Marco Schwarz’s best time. So does Loic Meillard, who even loses more than a second to the leader.

Marco Schwarz (AUT): And it is precisely in this final part that Marco Schwarz shows a strong performance! The Austrian shows a brilliant ride and also scores with his condition. He takes six tenths from the previous leader!

Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR): Solid start from Henrik Kristoffersen, but you can see from him that the course is going to be very demanding at the back. The Norwegian loses his line a bit and therefore also a lot of time in the finish slope.

Marco Odermatt (SUI): The favorite starts the race! Odermatt gives everything, shows a good performance, even if he looks a bit exhausted from behind. Nevertheless, a good first time for the Swiss.

Alpine skiing World Cup: men’s giant slalom in Courchevel/Meribel NOW in the live ticker – before the start

Before the start – ÖSV quartet hopes for a good performance: Marco Schwarz is also among the favorites. The Austrian is in fifth place in the World Cup. His three teammates who are there today are not doing badly in the World Cup either. Manuel Feller (ninth place), Stefan Brennsteiner (12) and Raphael Haaser (16) all want to achieve a good placement for the ÖSV.

Before the start – Odermatt the favourite: Over the course of the season, Marco Odermatt proved to be the best performer in the giant slalom competition. The Swiss is leading the World Cup in this discipline by a comfortable distance and is therefore still the favorite today. From the Swiss point of view, however, Loic Meillard, who is also having a very strong season, is also counting on something.

Before the start – Goldjunge hopes for the next medal: Alexander Schmid is world champion! After his victory in the parallel competition, this can no longer be taken away from the German. As eighth place finisher in the World Cup, Schmid is counting on something today. From a German point of view, Fabian Gratz is also there.

Before the start: “After the day, a lot of the burden and pressure is gone – also for the whole team. I think that you can drive up much more freely and just have fun.”, said Alexander Schmid after his sensational World Championship gold in the parallel slalom with regard to today’s race. Can he trump there again?
