Our compatriot had to recognize her superior in the Czech Karolina Pliskova (WTA-20), losing finalist at the US Open 2016 and Wimbledon 2021. It became 6-1 and 6-3 after 46 minutes.

Elise Mertens (WTA-32) made it through to the second round (eighth finals) on Monday.
The Belgian number 1 will play in the second round against the Russian fourth seed Veronika Koedermetova (WTA 11). Mertens’ former doubles partner was free in the first round.
