From the boat to Serie A, Kallon ‘thanks Italy’ – Calcio

(ANSA) – VERONA, FEBRUARY 17 – It is a touching letter, full of love and gratitude for Italy, that Sierra Leone striker Yayah Kallon, under Verona, wanted to share on social networks to remember the seven years that have passed since, on a boat, after a thousand vicissitudes, he arrived on the peninsula. “17/2/2016: my arrival in Italy was a day that I will always remember. It radically changed my life. Seven years ago I was a scared boy who feared he couldn’t make it, that he couldn’t pass the great test and above all the ‘challenge’ that life put before me, the very long journey full of fears, anguish and obstacles: in the end I made it…”. An integration process that Kallon has fully overcome, becoming a striker in Serie A, first in Genoa and then in Verona, where he also scored a goal, on his debut in the Gialloblù shirt, which earned the Venetians a draw in the match against Empoli . “I still have many other goals to achieve, more human ones, for which I will continue to do my best – reflects the young man -. A special thanks to my mother Grazia Matranga, to my agent Bordonaro and above all a special thanks to Genoa, my first home , in Savona”. Finally, thanks to Verona “for the great opportunity this year, a club in which I was very well received, in a beautiful city”. (ANSA).
