Bayern star Marcel Sabitzer (28) is on loan to Manchester United until the end of the season. According to BILD information, the Premier League club has no purchase option. At a late hour at 1.10 a.m. Bayern officially announced the change.

Sabitzer played 15 Bundesliga games this season under coach Julian Nagelsmann (35), so he was almost always there, especially at the beginning of the season he collected plenty of minutes.

On Tuesday, he was absent from FC Bayern’s final training session ahead of the cup game at Mainz 05 (Wednesday, 8:45 p.m.). Just as the transfer window in Germany had closed, Sabitzer took off in a private jet from Munich to Manchester. There he completed the obligatory medical check-up that evening.

Bayern’s Sportvorstand Hasan Salihamidžić (46): “Manchester United expressed an interest in Marcel Sabitzer at the beginning of the week. Marcel has told us he would like more playing time and is convinced he can get it at United. After consultation with our trainer Julian Nagelsmann, we have complied with the request and Marcel until 30.6. loaned to Manchester United. We wish him every success for the second half of the season with United.”

Sabitzer explains on the United homepage: “Sometimes in life you have to make quick and important decisions. From the moment I heard about this opportunity, I knew it was the right thing for me. I’m a competitive gamer; I want to win and help the club achieve their goals this season.”

With his move to ManUnited, Sabitzer can seize the moment: midfield engine Christian Eriksen is currently injured. Sabitzer could play his way into the starting XI straight away.

Marcel Sabitzer moved to Munich in 2021 together with coach Julian Nagelsmann from Leipzig. In Munich, the Austrian still has a contract until 2025.
