With a strong record of 10 wins in 21 games, the Rostock Seawolves said goodbye to the international break. In the basketball Bundesliga, the climber is even close to the playoff ranks. For ex-coach Dirk Bauermann, however, the successes of the Rostockers do not come as a surprise. “No, not at all. You have an excellent coach in Christian Held. The former national coach was the Rostock coach for around a year and a half in 2020 and 2021. Since the beginning of the year he has been working as a youth coordinator for the German Basketball Federation.

While other Bundesliga clubs like medi Bayreuth or the Würzburg Baskets are struggling with financial problems, the Seawolves are currently looking very solid. “This is absolutely going in the right direction,” said Bauermann. “The euphoria is great, something can really happen,” said the 65-year-old. The next game for Rostock is on March 4th at Mitteldeutsche BC.
