A curious hit! The goalkeeper scored across the pitch. At the same time, the goalkeeper was standing in the other gate

A truly curious goal was scored in the second German hockey league on Saturday. The fact that the goalie was hit across the entire pitch alone is worth paying attention to, but the fact that the second goal was not empty and the guardian of the shrine was standing in it makes it even more extraordinary. Together with his teammates, he didn’t realize that the referee wouldn’t blow the whistle when he was weakened, so he turned his back on the game.

The unconventional intervention occurred in the 17th minute of the first period. Home team Selber was losing 0:1 to Ravensburg, but played a power game. The visitors managed to throw the puck across the field, but did not realize that the referee would not blow the whistle for a prohibited clearance, as Ravensburg was playing at a numerical disadvantage. But all his players stopped playing, which was taken advantage of by goalkeeper Michael Bitzer, who sent the puck across the rink to the opponent’s goal.

In it stood a completely unprepared Jonas Stettmer, who was refreshing himself with his back to the game, expecting a faceoff in the defensive zone to follow. But he was really wrong, because a few seconds later he was surprised to see what the puck was doing in his goal.

The referee eventually awarded the equaliser, albeit incorrectly. He should have blown the whistle for offside, because at the moment when the puck entered Selber’s attacking zone, the home team’s attacker was also in this area. But everyone present was probably so confused by the whole situation that the goal was valid.

Even this curious situation didn’t help the home team with points. Although goalkeeper Bitzer scored an assist in addition to the goal, his team lost 3:5. It is still in the twelfth position, which means a fight for retention. Ravensburg is third, which puts them very well on their way to a direct promotion to the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

Pastrňák played a movie character at the All-Star Game and got the puck into the goal with the help of a golf club:
