With the presence of Francisco Cerúndolo, the Córdoba Open was presented

Francisco Cerúndolo (29th in the ATP ranking), the best Argentine at the Australian Open upon reaching the third round, was the star member of the event held at the Racket Club, which also included Mariano Ink, director of the contest, and Miguel Siciliano, Secretary of Government and Cabinet Management of the City of Córdoba.

“For all South Americans, this tour is key because it represents a great source of points to start the year off right. This tournament is great, my brother won it and I won my first ATP match in 2019. It will be nice because it will be competitive”, remarked the eldest of the Cerúndolos, who defeated his compatriot Guido Pella and the Frenchman Corentin Moutet on the way to the third round of the Australian Open, an instance that saw him be defeated by the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. “I like playing in Argentina, I am very happy that there are two consecutive events and they are moments that I want to take advantage of. I love playing here, my family and friends come to see me, it represents an important support from a mental point of view”, added the person who will travel to Finland to play the Davis Cup series with the national team and, later, will play the Córdoba Open for the fourth time. . So far, his best performance came in 2021, when he fell to Federico Coria in the second round.

“Year after year the story grows and we are consolidating the event, in Tournaments we have a great commitment to the development of tennis. Ticket sales are very good and we have sponsors who have been accompanying us with innovative proposals like every year”, said Mariano Ink, director of the tournament.

“The transformation that Córdoba has had in recent times is incredible, both in terms of hotels and gastronomy. January and February are not usually high season months, so this contest and the rest of the sporting events allow us to position it. We have great expectations for the support of the public,” said Miguel Siciliano, Secretary of Government and Cabinet Management.

The classification of the Córdoba Open will be played between Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February, with free admission.

On Sunday, in addition, there will be a Kid’s Day with the “Mi Primer Peloteo” foundation, in which children from schools in the area will enjoy an interactive proposal with some of the tennis players in the main draw. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketek from 3,000 pesos.
