Regular place guarantee for Florian Müller (25)!
Despite his poor first half of the season and the most recent blunder in Leipzig (1:2), VfB goalkeeper Müller remains undisputed. At least for coach Bruno Labbadia (56), who doesn’t want to get involved in a goalkeeper discussion. And Müller gives public support.
Labbadia: “I communicated clearly that Flo is number one. There’s no reason to think about changing it. The question doesn’t even arise for me. Mistakes are part of football. It is important to strengthen players.”
A clear sign of the weak Müller. And with it a severe setback for substitute goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow (27). Despite Müller’s many mistakes, the Berliner can’t get past Stuttgart’s number one.
Labbadia on the competition: “I decided early on that Flo was number one. In our situation, you don’t have to constantly change everything just because something doesn’t work. I think that my experience stands me in good stead. You have to keep a steady hand. But we are glad that in Fabi we have someone who puts the pressure on.” The pressure just isn’t big enough. Bredlow must continue to wait for his chance.
Because: As BILD learned, Müller will be in the DFB Cup round of 16 against Paderborn (6 p.m. / Sky) in the VfB goal.
