Tracked by Antwerp, Daley Blind finally joined … Bayern Munich

“I can’t wait to play,” Blind told the Bayern website. “The most important part of the season is ahead. It’s about the trophy and a club like Bayern can win any trophy. The thirst for victories was the deciding factor in my decision. I hope to be able to help the team with my experience. I will give everything for Bayern Munich.”

The Bundesliga leader was still on the hunt for a left-back. Lucas Hernandez is out for a long time with a serious knee injury picked up during the World Cup. Alphonso Davies was therefore the only left-back in coach Julian Nagelsmann’s squad. At Ajax, Blind ended up on the sidelines under coach Alfred Schreuder (ex-Club de Bruges). National coach Louis van Gaal has maintained his faith in the Dutch international with 99 caps at the last World Cup in Qatar. He took part in all of the Netherlands’ World Cup matches.
