Tops / Flops Inter – Naples: Dzeko scores, Osimhen disappoints

Dzeko’s decisive goal, Barella’s boss match and Osimhen’s missed meeting: find the Tops and Flops of this match between Inter and Naples (1-0).

TOPS

Edin Dzeko, decisive at the right time

The former Roma and Manchester City striker is not the best of the header, only tonight he was able to make the difference with a superb helmet shot on reception of a cross from Dimarco in the 56th minute. Voluntary and not stingy with effort, he tried in the first period to combine with Lukaku who did not know how to concretize the actions. Replaced by Correa in the last quarter of an hour, Dzeko, who will celebrate his 37th birthday in March, still has good remains and proves that he is still one of the best attackers in the championship.

Nicolo Barella, the boss of the middle

The Italian midfielder once again splashed the field with all his class. With 11 duels postponed out of 15, he was untenable and was able to distribute very good passes, often marred by the clumsiness of Lukaku and Dimarco. Facing the championship leader, he also succeeded in all of the dribbles he attempted tonight. A real boss match for the European champion.

Flops

Victor Osimhen, a failed recovery

This match was not a cakewalk for the former LOSC striker. Dominated by an excellent Acerbi, Victor Osimhen could not make the difference tonight. Closely watched by the opposing defense, he failed to combine with Kvaratskhelia and did not win any of his 5 evening duels. A match to forget therefore for the one who still scored 9 goals this season in the league but who is struggling to forget the legend Dries Mertens…

Matteo Darmian, too much waste

Replacing Denzel Dumfries who recently returned from Qatar, the Italian piston made victory more complicated for his team. Often well served by his teammates, notably Barella, the former Manchester United defender certainly did not earn points from Simone Inzaghi as he was so wasteful in his actions. With a little more concentration on his part, Inter would probably have scored at least one more goal.
