On the field of Andrea Costa Imola a Use Computer Gross is not enough, which appeared to be in clear growth compared to the match of the previous round with Cesena. The last match of the first round ends with a 74-65 defeat that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth as the red and white team, despite a not exactly happy week from a physical point of view, manages to do. The match is in fact fought to the end but this time too, as unfortunately on other occasions, something is missing to be able to bring home a victory that would have been very important from a psychological point of view. From the final statistics sheet, a 21% in long shooting (6/28) is enough for the eye, which only increases the regrets.
It is the great former Restelli who opens the game with Casella who immediately replies from the arc. Mazzoni’s triple is worth the first advantage (5-8) but it’s in the final that Computer Gross tries to extend with a run of 0-12 inaugurated by Nwokoye and sealed by Giannone’s triple for 15-22 of the first time. After Costa’s 15-24, Imola scores again with Montanari who scores 5 consecutive points and makes up for it with a triple from Marangoni: 23-26. After Tognacci’s 27-28, the draw was done at 30 in the 7th minute, a moment in which Costa and Nwokoye tried to react anyway. At the long rest we are 36-33 and the third fraction is the one that, like the second, weighs numerically and not only on the final result. USE stays in the match until halfway through with Costa scoring 44-41 but then Imola extends with a 10-1 break which, in the 30th minute, fixes the score at 54-42. Casella scores the first basket of the final tempo and on a couple of occasions, on plus 13, Antonini first and Sesoldi after try to react. Again from the red and white captain the minus 9 on 61-51, with Imola going forward with Trentin. When in the 7th minute Casella scores the 67-62, Coach Valentino’s team believes it but Montanari’s triple arrives and Giannone tries to reply: 70-64. 40 seconds from the siren, Casella tries but doesn’t put the bomb and at that point Imola controls until the final 74-65.
