PEC Zwolle won the Kitchen Champion Division topper against Heracles Almelo on Sunday. Coach Dick Schreuder’s team triumphed 0-3 and regained the lead. Earlier in the day, Almere City moved into third place thanks to a 1-0 win over Willem II in a match in which a striking shirt change occurred.
At Heracles-PEC, the opening goal in the eighth minute came in the name of PEC player Samuel Lagsir, who curled beautifully. It turned out to be the prelude to a wonderful afternoon for the people of Zwolle.
Two more goals were scored in the first half. PEC star Thomas van den Belt scored 0-2 with his ninth goal of the season and Lennart Thy increased the margin with a striking header. Heracles had no more of that.
PEC has already won the Kitchen Champion Division for the sixth time in a row and is leading again for the first time since September 30. The Zwollenars have 44 points, just like Heracles.
Next week, both PEC and Heracles will play against a club from the top of the Kitchen Champion Division. PEC receives number six VVV-Venlo and Heracles visits number four MVV Maastricht.

Woudenberg plays with the wrong shirt number
Remarkable at Almere City-Willem II was that Willem II left back Lucas Woudenberg played the first part of the match in a shirt of teammate Michael de Leeuw, with his number 23 on it. This was noticed after about 20 minutes. Woudenberg then put on his ‘own’ shirt with number 25 on the sideline.
A few minutes after the shirt change, Jeredy Hilterman scored the winning goal on behalf of Almere City. The attacker got a little too much space and hit through the legs of Willem II defender Erik Schouten. It was Hilterman’s twelfth goal of the season.
Thanks to the win, Almere City is on 35 points from twenty games. Only PEC and Heracles are above the team from Flevoland. For Willem II, the match in Almere was an opportunity to catch up.
With a win, the Tilburgers would bounce over Almere City in the rankings. Now the difference is five points again. Willem II, which has been led by Reinier Robbemond since the beginning of this year, is seventh.
