Italy virtually qualified in 13 categories! – OA Sports

It has now been seven months since the beginning of the Judo’s qualification path towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will end on June 23, 2024 with the award of 372 passes to five circles. The road is still very long and starting from 23 June 2023 the scores reported by the athletes in the ranking will have a double value, therefore the two-year period 2023-2024 will have a crucial specific weight for the race for the Olympic pass.

Italy has performed well so far in the various events of the World Tour staged in the second half of last season and she would currently qualify in 13 out of 14 individual events, also having to deal with various ballots (each country can field a maximum of one representative per category). To date the blue movement would be excluded only in the men’s heavyweightsbut nothing is lost in this regard.

Also noteworthy is the situation of Agnese Zucco, qualified to date for the Paris five-circle review in the 63 kg via continental quota. A truly positive scenario for the Bel Paese, which has a good chance of taking part (with important ambitions) also in the mixed Olympic team competition in Paris 2024.
