“It is very sad that a fan cannot represent their team away from home wearing their shirt”

Imanol BailiffReal Sociedad coach, lamented this Tuesday, in the press conference prior to the cup match, that Fútbol Club Barcelona does not allow fans dressed in the colors of the San Sebastián team outside the visiting area of the stadium.

The coach refers to the Catalan club’s policy of not selling tickets to rival fans, referring them to those that his own club puts up for sale, or the prohibition, ultimately, of accessing the stands of the Camp Nou with clothing or rival team symbols.

Barcelona explains that the objective is to achieve the effective separation of fans to avoid any type of conflict, but it is surprising when in other LaLiga Santander stadiums fans can be seen intermingled without any problem.

The politics of the Barcelona entity it takes more to the letter when the team faces its historical rivals, like Real Madrid or Espanyol. In fact, in the last Catalan derby the controversy had a lot of echo and provoked complaints from the blue and white club, which warned that it would do the same in its stadium.

The issue has become topical again on the occasion of the next Barcelona-Real Madrid in League F. Despite the fact that there are still months left for the game and it does not even have a date and time, the Barça club has already recalled its policy. It will not sell tickets to white fans or allow their access to Johan Cruyff with symbols of their team.

«It’s very sad, it’s a pity“said Bailiff. «I am not going to go where they do not call me. But it is very sad that a fan cannot represent his team away from home wearing his shirt. Very sorry,” he added.
