In general, penalties are a real gray area in terms of regulations. Players have the right to stop their run, but some voluntarily pull the rope by inventing new feints such as the small jump just before kicking the ball, a method popularized in particular by Jorginho during Euro 2020.
However, we note that since these fantasies have been democratized, there have never been so many badly drawn penalties, or at least badly placed. Most players seek above all to take the opposing goalkeeper on the wrong foot, but the latter have understood this and are now able to turn the attacker’s feint against him…
Others, like Martinez, go even further by ostensibly provoking their opponents, talking to them or performing quite explicit (and somewhat ridiculous) dances after having stopped an attempt.
