David Beckham’s son Romeo Beckham has joined Brentford’s reserve side on loan for the remainder of the season, the Premier League club said in a statement on Friday.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who went through Arsenal’s academy as a child, had been training for two months with his new team to stay fit during the offseason in America, where he played in the team 2 of Inter Miami, co-owned by his father.
“I am very proud and very happy to be here,” he said on his new club’s website. It was a fun season (in the United States) in which there were a lot of ups and downs, but I am motivated to be here and see what I can do”.
Romeo Beckham joined Fort Lauderdale CF in 2021 before the reserve team was renamed Inter Miami II last year.
He made a brief first-team appearance in a friendly against Barcelona in July.
