The President of the FIGC, Gabriel Gravina, expresses his condolences for the death of the former federal president in a statement. “The impetus for the development of women’s football in Italy through the union with men’s professional clubs, the introduction of Goal Line Technology and the VAR, as well as the choice on the international field to support the current top management of UEFA and FIFA, have been his happy intuitions” concludes Gravina. “Carlo Tavecchio was a friend of mine and a great manager – is the memory of Franco Carraro, current President of the FIGC’s Paralympic and Experimental Football Division – He loved football viscerally, especially amateur football, to such an extent that he didn’t want to miss the assembly of the Lombardy Regional Committee which he presided over, despite his physical conditions were not the best.
