Borussia Mönchengladbach: Christoph Kramer talks about the bankruptcy of Pauli | Sports

After two confident friendly wins against third division club VfB Oldenburg (2-0) and second division club Arminia Bielefeld (4-0), Gladbach lost against St. Pauli (0-1) at the weekend, of all things, the last friendly before the league started on April 22. January (5.30 p.m.) against Bayer Leverkusen.

Although Borussia gave a really bad performance and the defeat against the second division was fully deserved, Christoph Kramer (31) remains calm.

“I don’t have to account to anyone” Eberl plain text after explosive Leipzig change

The midfielder: “Certainly nobody needs a bad result. But whatever the reason for football history, it’s not so bad if you don’t win all friendly matches with ease.”

The Gladbach professional does not have an explanation as to why the dress rehearsal went so badly.

Kramer: „We had very good preparation in terms of the scope, intensity and quality of the training sessions. We’ve worked really well on ourselves. Before the game against St. Pauli we had an English friendly week with the games against Oldenburg and Bielefeld and hardly had any days off. At the end of a pre-season session, it’s clear that you don’t go into the game like you would in a competitive game. Still, I think we can do better.”

The unusually long winter preparation ended with the test against St. Pauli. Kramer is also happy that Bundesliga points will finally be at stake again next Sunday against his former club Leverkusen!

Kramer: “Even in the summer, after preparation with a lot of really good games, we didn’t play as well as we can against a Spanish team in the last friendly – and yet we started the season well.

Is correct! After the meager 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad San Sebastian at the end of the pre-season, a week later there was a 9-1 win in the first round of the DFB Cup against SV Oberachern. And at the start of the Bundesliga, the Foals finally celebrated a 3-1 home win against TSG Hoffenheim.
