The Basquet Coruña club wanted to pay tribute to the former Sports Councilor of the city, Mónica Martínez, who resigned a few weeks ago after the sentence of the TSXG declaring null and void his appointment in the year 2020. The team wanted to have a gesture with politics, giving him a T-shirt and thanking him for his work in the last two years in the City Council of A Coruña.

On December 21, the TSXG confirmed the nullity of his appointment, causing his immediate resignation from office and numerous reactions from the political sphere of A Coruña, many of them praising his management in the area of sports. Martínez, for his part, acknowledged feeling “very honored and lucky” with these recognitions received by the Verdiblanco club and also by other institutions, such as the Real Club Náutico, which gave him a plaque “for his unconditional support in promoting sailing”.
Two weeks ago, he also received a commemorative plaque from the Hockey Club Liceo, “for his unconditional support for our clubfor making our day to day easier and for being one more of the high school family”.
