Basketball Bundesliga club medi Bayreuth loses its sole shareholder Carl Steiner. The entrepreneur retires from bottom of the table on June 30 of this year.
“I can no longer and do not want to make the personal effort required to lead Bayreuth basketball into a successful future,” Steiner wrote in a personal statement.
Steiner had been involved in various functions with the Bayreuth basketball team since 1984 – most recently as sole shareholder. He expects the association to find new shareholders “in the next four to eight weeks”. Just a few days ago, managing director Johannes Feuerpfeil announced his departure at the end of the season.
