All-star reliever Aroldis Chapman will continue his career with the Kansas City Royals.

This was reported by the daily “USA Today” on Thursday. The 34-year-old veteran reportedly signed a one-year deal worth $3.75 million.

Seven-time All-Star selection, Chapman played with the New York Yankees last season. His stay in the Big Apple, however, ended in a tumultuous way. After missing out on mandatory practice at the end of the campaign, the Cuban was dropped from the Bronx Bombers roster for the entire playoffs.

It must be said that Chapman’s star faded in 2022, during his sixth season with the Yankees. He went 4-4 with a 4.46 ERA.

The left-handed gunner began his career with the Cincinnati Reds in 2010. He quickly established himself as one of the top relievers on the Manfred League, helping the Chicago Cubs win the World Series in 2016.

In 13 seasons and 667 major league games, Chapman has a stellar 2.48 ERA and a 44-35 record.
