The peculiar situation occurred during the second half of the Loyola Chicago Ramblers-Duquesne Dukes game last Wednesday, when a delivery man entered the field with a bag of fast food and got very close to a player who was positioned on the 3-point line.
The referee momentarily stopped the game for this “invasion” with 16:10 remaining and Loyola Chicago had a 40-37 lead.
Meanwhile, the ESPN+ broadcast team commented on the totally unusual situation: “Who are you giving it to? The referee!?” The announcers speculated that it was an Uber Eats delivery man handing some McDonalds to referee Phillip Austin.
- But none of that. Hours later, the truth came out: the author was a young comedian who was making a video for his TikTok or YouTube channel.
