Minnesota Wolves Dominate Phoenix Suns in Playoff Sweep: 116-122

Phoenix Suns – Minnesota Timberwolves : 116-122

Minnesota wins the series 4-0

The Suns invested hundreds of millions of dollars to build a team with three superstars. They changed the entire roster in the space of a few months to associate Kevin Durant then Bradley Beal with Devin Booker. All this to go out in the first round of the playoffs in four dry rounds. Minnesota is the first team to secure its qualification for the Conference semi-finals by beating Phoenix for the fourth time in a row (116-122).

So the Suns may have three major players, none of them were at the level of Anthony Edwards in this series. The young leader of the Wolves scored 40 points in addition to his 9 rebounds and 6 assists in this decisive Game 4. He responded to Booker’s 49 points, determined to do everything to save honor. In vain. Only Kevin Durant (33 points) passed the 10-unit mark alongside him. Beal finished with 9 points on 4-of-13 shooting.

The Arizona franchise still led by 2 small lengths at the start of the fourth quarter. But she was again stifled by the athletic defense of Jaden McDaniels and his partners. Edwards scored 16 of his 40 points in the final 12 minutes to complete the sweep.

Rudy Gobert’s Wolves (9 points, 5 rebounds) won their first playoff series since 2004. They then went to the Conference finals that year. They will meet in the next round the winner of the series between the Nuggets and the Lakers (Denver currently leads 3-1).

Indiana Pacers – Milwaukee Bucks : 126-113

Indiana leads series 3-1

A year after the terrible disillusionment of the lost series against the Heat, the Bucks are once again preparing to exit in the first round of the playoffs. They are not (yet) eliminated but they are in bad shape, led 1-3 by Pacers who are too fast and too skillful for the team coached by Doc Rivers. The coach, appointed during the season after the dismissal of Adrian Griffin, must cope without his two superstars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Difficult to win in these conditions, of course, but that does not completely excuse the Milwaukee players, much too soft in defense while they face one of the best attacks in the championship. Indiana once again exploited all the opposing flaws by also surfing on a rather insolent address from afar. Myles Turner and his teammates scored 22 field goals Sunday night, a franchise record in a playoff game.

The pivot took 7 alone! He finished with 29 points for the second straight game, while adding 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Tyrese Haliburton added 24 points and six Pacers players reached or exceeded the 10-point mark. Brook Lopez (27 points) and Khris Middleton (25) tried to lead the charge for the Bucks.
