Sports Weekend in Stuttgart: Tennis, Australian Football, Baseball, and More!

The tennis players from TEC Waldau Stuttgart start the Bundesliga season with two home games. VfL Sindelfingen, now also a first division tennis team after promotion, has to play away twice. After two match days abroad, the Stuttgart Giants – the Australian football division of the Feuerbach Sports Association – are finally fighting for points in front of their home crowd for the first time this Bundesliga season. Baseball and Softball | PALOMINO qualifying tournament at the Reds

Young baseball players in the U19 age group and young softball players in the U18 age group will be active in the Stuttgart Reds’ new ballpark in the second half of the week. The European qualifying tournament for the PALOMINO series will take place there. The winners in baseball and softball are allowed to take part in the World Series tournament in the USA. In addition to the Reds as hosts, there are five other teams taking part, these come from Slovakia, Switzerland, Lithuania, Belarus and the Netherlands.

Bowling | Second league on the home stretch

In the 2nd Bundesliga, Division 3, the last weekend of the season is on the schedule. Half of the six-person relay, in which clubs from Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria compete, consists of teams from the Stuttgart region. Blau-Weiß 84 Stuttgart is top of the table and can become champions at the weekend, BC Waiblingen goes into the last game of the season in third place and KV Stuttgart is currently fifth.

Darts | Final matchday in the Bundesliga

Decisive duels await the top darts clubs from the region on Saturday. The first league precision athletes from DC Wolfsölden are challenged in their home town of Affalterbach. Only two wins will help them maintain their chance of remaining in the upper house. Second division team DC Urbach is playing in Munich and can still dream of promotion to the first division. Urbach is currently in third place, tied with the second-placed team – second place is a promotion place.

Duathlon | Endurance competition in LE-Echterdingen

A triathlon includes swimming, cycling and running. If you leave out the swimming, you’re talking about a duathlon of cycling and running. One of these takes place on May Day in Echterdingen – and even if only two sports are completed here, points can be collected for the Triathlon RegioCup. The main race, the sprint duathlon, consists of 20.5 kilometers on the bike, before which you have to run five kilometers and after cycling another two and a half kilometers.

One of the great classics in top German football is the duel between VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern Munich. Swingolf is a relaxed version of classic golf. The game is not played on a meticulously maintained green, there is only one type of club and the ball is softer. Tennis | Waldau ladies start with a double match day

The season in the 1st Women’s Tennis Bundesliga starts on the first weekend in May. It will last until mid-July. The tennis players from TEC Waldau Stuttgart, who have been playing on the first floor for many years, are starting the 2024 season with a day of double matches in front of their home crowd.
