World Tennis League: Félix Auger-Aliassime wins against Nick Kyrgios

Quebec’s Félix Auger-Aliassime scored a 7-5, 6-3 straight-set victory over Australian Nick Kyrgios in the World Tennis League in Dubai.

Auger-Aliassime also had to erase a 0-3 deficit against Kyrgios in the first set to triumph.

Thanks to this victory, the “Kites” team, of which Auger-Aliassime is a member, won its duel against the “Eagles” team. The Kites defeated the Eagles 30-27 in games.

Eugenie Bouchard, who is part of the same team as Auger-Alissime, lost in doubles alongside Holger Rune. It was fellow Canadian Bianca Andreescu who had the upper hand in this match alongside Kyrgios. For her part, Iga Swiatek had the upper hand over Caroline Garcia, leaving the chances of victory alive.

The meeting between the Kites and the Eagles is the first of the World Tennis League.
