In Game 2 of the Dodgers’ weekend series against the Royals, rookie pitching phenom Yoshinobu Yamamoto was removed in the third inning and later diagnosed with a rotator cuff injury.

Manager Dave Roberts said that the injury is not “season-ending” but it’s “going to be some time” until he is able to return.

Compounding that loss, Betts was injured in the seventh inning of Game 3 when he was hit with a fastball that broke his left hand.

Still, the Dodgers remain the odds-on favorite to win the World Series this season at +300 odds.

One team trending in the right direction is the Minnesota Twins, which has won seven of its last eight games as of June 17 and moved to +2000 from +2800 over the last week.

FOX Sports MLB analyst Ben Verlander gushed over the Twins, as the team placed ninth in his weekly power rankings.

“The Twins have fully embraced Minnesota this week, from the debut of their lake-themed City Connect jerseys to their new Prince-themed home run celebration,” he wrote.

“Those good vibes seemed to pay off in a major way as the Twins are keeping pace with the Royals and Guardians in the American League Central, thanks to the recent exploits of Carlos Correa and Royce Lewis.”
