Sound defeat in Novara for the Under 15s of PFV who come back with a heavy 73-24 on their back, the result of a match not played up to their possibilities, albeit against a certainly stronger opponent, compared to which, however, the difference in the score remedied in the first leg (- 20) perhaps better reflected the technical gap between the two formations.
PFV once again had to deal with the usual staff shortagescaused by the prevailing influence, for which – as usual – it was not possible to play according to the usual methods and with the usual rotations, made impossible by the reduced number of players available.
Also in this circumstance, in fact, Cavalli, Bari and Francese were missing, and other players, although they took to the field, were not in perfect physical condition.
To make up for the absences, Sofia Panelli and Awa Fall were also called by the under 14 (2009) who, moreover, behaved well with their older “colleagues”.
That doesn’t mean, however, that the girls of Gianfranco Anastasio, this time, they played a subdued game, absolutely lacking in attack where they collected the paltry 24 points, never reaching double figures in any of the four quarters played, closed with the following (certainly not exciting) partials: 13-7 ; 20-4; 21-9; 19-4.
It is clear that with this very limited offensive capacity there was nothing to be done against those who, on the other side, threw the ball in with much greater frequency.
Now the league will observe the suspension for the holiday season and we will return to the field on 15.1.2023 in Vercelli, at the Palapiacco at 15.30, against Basket Venariain the hope that the flu epidemic has at least subsided a little and the team can go to the bench if not full, at least with 10/11 players available to the coach.
