Unusual > It was Stich who made Boom-Boom Becker cry

Among the confidences made by Boris Becker on German television earlier this week about his stay in prison, there is one that has not gone unnoticed across the Rhine.

Indeed, when one knew the time, it is very comforting to note that in spite of a tumultuous past, the formerly rival champions can become accomplices.

This is somewhat what Boris Becker admits half-wordly when he explains the content of the letters he received during his detention.

« I received several dozen letters every day from fans, relatives, friends, and of course some former tennis players. I have read them all and I have to answer them at the end of the year. They helped me a lot to keep my spirits up. If I had to highlight one, I’d say it’s the one sent to me by Michael Stich. It was three pages, it was very moving. I never would have thought that Michael would make such a strong move.” explained Boris in tears on German television.
