European Archery Pre-Olympic Qualification Event Underway in Essen

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are ever closer and the five-round qualification process of the archery. Today, Sunday 5 May, the first of the two days of the event takes place in Essen (Germany). European Pre-Olympica continental tournament that offers 3 individual Olympic quotas per gender.

Italy, already certain of an individual women’s slot thanks to Chiara Rebagliati’s bronze at the European Games, participates in the event only with the men (still empty-handed). At the start Mauro Nespoli, Federico Musolesi and Alessandro Paoli, all looking for the best possible result (it is enough that the best of our standard bearers is preceded in the final classification by representatives of a maximum of two different countries, remaining however in the top 8) to allow the Italian selection to bring at least one representative from the men’s field to the Olympics.

Day-1 reserved for the 72 arrows of the ranking round and the first rounds of the direct elimination brackets up to and including the round of 16. Below is the complete calendar, the detailed program, the times of the first day of the European Archery Pre-Olympic in Essen. There is no television or streaming coverage of today’s competition.
